What is Mafia?
Mafia is a social deduction party game that tests your ability to lie, detect lies, and work as a team.
Created in the 1980s by Dimitry Davidoff, this psychological game has become a worldwide phenomenon and has inspired many variations and adaptations.
Basic Rules
The game is played in alternating phases:
- Night Phase: The Mafia secretly 'eliminate' one citizen. Special roles also perform their actions.
- Day Phase: All players debate and vote to eliminate one player they suspect is Mafia.
- Game End: The game continues until either all Mafia are eliminated (Town wins) or the Mafia outnumbers the Town (Mafia wins).
Tips for Playing
- Pay attention to contradictions in other players' statements
- Observe body language and unusual behavior
- Trust your intuition, but gather evidence before making accusations
- Stay calm when defending yourself
- Remember that deception is part of the game - don't take it personally!
